Who I Am
My name is Anastasis.
I am a thirty-six-year-old Greek from Corfu on my mother’s side, and a practitioner of a revived family tradition of folk magic. I have walked this path for twenty years, through study, practice, observation, and direct experience, and remain deeply devoted to the Art as an eternal student of the Mysteries of the Unseen.
I take genuine pleasure in helping others discover their own path, understand their experiences more deeply, or find meaning in things that cannot always be explained through words alone. I offer assistance as my ancestors did, without judging another person’s will. Each person knows, in some way, which experiences they must live through and which lessons they must learn, even when those processes unfold on a level beyond conscious perception.
I am a person who lives between two worlds, in a village upon a mountain ridge, in a way that allows me to live according to the laws of the Unseen and in service to it. I seek the current of magic at its source: a wild, primordial, uncreated Light, concealed and protected beneath the condensed layers of the Unseen, which human perception so often experiences and interprets as darkness.
There was a time when I struggled to stand on the side of the “Light.” With time, I came to understand that Light and darkness, just as good and evil, are human interpretations imposed upon forces that arise from the same primordial Source. Beyond the limits of human perception, these forces are not opposing poles, but different expressions of the same eternal Mystery.
I do not follow modern concepts such as the Rule of Three, which I regard as a relatively recent idea intended to provide a sense of safety to those outside the Art, nor do I follow the popular modern interpretation of karma, which often bears little resemblance to its original religious meaning. Such concepts, along with many others like them, had no place in the world of my ancestors. In their time, necessity came first. Consequences arose from poor judgement, magical mistakes, broken oaths, or offences against gods and spirits, not from some impersonal cosmic law attempting to restore a human conception of moral balance.
This is who I am at this particular moment, although that moment is already passing as these words are written and read.
This is the path I walk: a path rooted in the past, lived in the present, and continually unfolding towards the future. A path that seeks to remain free from false beliefs and human laws imposed upon it by those who neither understand it nor recognise what lies beneath its surface.
Whether our paths meet through guidance, ritual work, or simply through the need to better understand an experience that words alone cannot explain, you are welcome here.
The rest, as always, belongs to Fate.
